ONE OF THE THINGS that you must learn if you are to live the victorious Christian life is its utter simplicity. To make these simple truths clearer, we want to cast them all in picture form. An "overall" picture of the life of victory is that of THE HIGHWAY in Isaiah 35.

"AND THE HIGHWAY WILL BE THERE, A ROADWAY, AND IT WILL BE CALLED THE HIGHWAY TO HOLINESS. THE UNCLEAN WILL NOT TRAVEL ON IT, BUT IT WILL BE FOR HIM WHO WALKS THAT WAY, AND FOOLS WILL NOT WANDER ON IT. NO LION WILL BE THERE, NOR WILL ANY VICIOUS BEAST GO UP TO IT. BUT THE REDEEMED WILL WALK THERE, AND THE RANSOMED OF THE LORD WILL RETURN, AND COME WITH JOYFUL SHOUTING TO ZION, WITH EVERLASTING JOY UPON THEIR HEADS. THEY WILL FIND GLADNESS AND JOY... AND SORROW AND SIGHING WILL FLEE AWAY. (Isaiah 35:8).

THE HIGHWAY IS NARROW AND UPHILL, but SAFE if you stay on it. The "unclean shall not pass over it." The only way onto the highway is to climb up the hill of Calvary, on your knees, in longing prayer.

"YE SHALL FIND ME, WHEN YE SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART."

AT THE TOP OF THE HILL IS THE CROSS... the divider of time and man. At the foot of the Cross is a low door called THE DOOR OF THE BROKEN ONES. Only those who say "NOT I, BUT CHRIST." may enter. There at the foot of the Cross we look on Him who was broken for us. We see the love and complete brokenness of the God who died in our place... for our sins. Our hearts will melt and we want to be broken for Him

A CONSTANT CHOICE . . . .

WE ARE NOT BROKEN ONLY ONCE to go through the door. God will use others around us to test our attitude of brokenness. If you find yourself in a patch of unbrokenness, the only way is to go afresh to Calvary and see JESUS BROKEN FOR YOU. Then you will come away willing to be broken for Him.

OVER THE DOOR OF THE BROKEN ONES is sprinkled the precious Blood of the LORD JESUS... cleansing us for all sin. For not only do we have to bend our stiff-necked "I" attitude but only the clean can walk the highway.

THE GIFT OF HIS FULLNESS . . . .

SO WE GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY, bathed in light... leading towards the Heavenly Jerusalem. JESUS comes up carrying a pitcher with the Water of Life and He looks into empty outstretched cups (hearts). Where He sees we have allowed His Bood to cleanse them... He fills them, and we go on our way rejoicing and praising God and overflowing with His new life. THIS IS REVIVAL!

THE REST OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE simply consists now of walking along the highway, with our hearts overflowing... bowing the neck to His will all the time, constantly TRUSTING the Blood to cleanse us and living the life the Lord intended us to live. THIS IS REAL HOLINESS!

OFF THE HIGHWAY . . . .

WE SOMETIMES MAY SLIP OFF THE HIGHWAY. for it is narrow. It is always because of a FAILURE IN OBEDIENCE somewhere or a failure to be weak enough to let God do all.

WE MUST GET BACK AT ONCE or we will slip farther down the dark side. The first thing to do is ask God to show us what caused us to slip off... and He will, though it often takes Him time to make us see. Take your sin to the Cross, see there in its sinfulness and then put in under the Blood and reckon it gone.

SO THE REAL TEST all along the highway will be... are your cups running over? Have we the peace of God in our hearts? Have we love and concern for others?

OUR WALK WITH OTHERS . . . .

THERE ARE OTHERS WALKING THE HIGHWAY with us, along with JESUS. The rule of the road is that fellowship with them is as important as fellowship with JESUS. God is love and He loves all of others, even if we don't. If we are unloving to our brothers and sisters, we are out of fellowship with God and walking in darkness. Recognize our impatience or irritability ot whatever it is as sin... and give it to JESUS to cleanse with His Blood.

REVIVAL IS JUST YOU AND I WALKING ALONG THE HIGHWAY IN COMPLETE ONENESS WITH THE LORD JESUS AND WITH ONE ANOTHER... WITH CUPS CONTINUALLY CLEANSED AND OVERFLOWING WITH THE LIFE AND LOVE OF GOD!
