New Covenant Community has has several very successful evangelistic outreaches on the "Astor". We find that people who would never enter a church building will come sailing with us. The exciting thing is that the people are of all ages and various backgrounds. Almost everyone likes to go sailing.
As a pastor, I see MasterPeace and the Yacht as a unique gift of God to the body of Christ. Briefly, I have found this ministry to be a gift to my fellowship in three ways:
- It has been used as an effective evangelistic tool.
- It has been used as a way to stimulate fellowship
- It has been used as a unique place to worship and teach the Word of God.
We hope to use the "Astor" as a part of our church activities on a consistant basics. Many other churches I know are beginning to do the same. May we do "A'' things for the sake of the gospel," and take advantage of the marvelous gift God has given us, in the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor.
