Meet The Crew...

I first met Red and Dorothy last july, as we were preparing to sail a 42-foot sailboat from Hawaii to Samoa. While at the loading dock waiting for clearance for mooring, Red drove by, slammed on his brakes, and said, "You guys look loke you need prayer!" That started a fast friendship.

I have learned that work is a form of worship. "What-ever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men." Also, as a teacher and as an officer, I have found that no matter what subject we may be studing, or what job we may be doing, God reveals Himself to us.

As part of the crew aboard "Astor"' I have seen that our service to others in sailing has been a service of worship to God. By using the boat, different aspects of sailing, and our personal backgrounds, we each have been able to touch people's lives with the love of Jesus Christ.

The fellowship we all enjoy on board flows from the love if Christ, the love that each one of us has for the Lord, as well as the love we have for one another. A love that is expressed not only in words, but also in actions. Red and Dorothy, by their example, have led us in this sweet fellowship which flows beyond"Astor" to the community in which God has placed us.
